I just picked up a Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle and my jaw just dropped when I saw that AWC had done an integrally suppressed Takedown.
The suppressor core is removeable and I believe it can then be used in a separate can body.

Who would buy something like this? Don’t civilians need $1500 tax stamp to purchase a silencer? And what would the military or police need with a 22?
Hi Charles,
Perhaps someone who wants to get rid of rodents or varmint and does not want to wear hearing protection so they can maintain awareness of their surroundings? Maybe they want to buy it because it’s just plain fun.
Availability of silencers vary by state, but I believe the tax stamp is only $200. As far as what would the military or police need with this, I don’t know. I didn’t make any mention of them in my post.
Thanks for reading my blog.
$200 for a tax stamp would make it almost reasonable. Almost.
It’s a $200 tax stamp, and worth every penny. That said I think it is unconstitutional to require such a tax. I’ve paid the ATF thousands of dollars to exercise my 2nd amendment rights, which is really not right.
DAMN IT. WISH I HAD SAVED MY PENNIES FOR SOMETHING AS COOL AS THIS.
